A Candidate Seeking Admission Must :

- Be a registered nurse
- Have passed pre university examination in arts/science/commerce conducted by Department of Pre University Education, Karnataka State or its equivalent recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

No candidate who is above 48 years of age on31st December of the year of admission shall be eligible.

A minimum attendance of 80% is mandatory separately in theory and practical/clinical components for each subject in every academic year to be eligible to appear for the examinations.
Students enrolled in this programme must pursue the course as full-time students and are required to remain in the college for the entire duration of the academic programme. Employment in any hospital, nursing home, laboratory, or educational institution is strictly prohibited during the course period.
Candidates are not permitted to enroll in any other course of study or appear for examinations conducted by this university or any other university in India or abroad while registered for this programme.
Attendance shall be calculated on an academic year basis, with each academic year treated as a separate unit for evaluation.
Regular and periodic internal assessments shall be conducted throughout the duration of the course. While the number of assessments is at the discretion of the institution, a minimum of three internal tests in both theory and practical components shall be conducted each academic year.
The internal test conducted immediately prior to the university examination may follow a pattern similar to that of the university examination. The average marks obtained from the three internal assessments, calculated separately for theory and practical, shall be submitted to the university.
To be eligible to appear for the university examination, a candidate must secure not less than 50% of the prescribed internal assessment marks in theory and 50% in practical, separately, in each subject or paper.
The University shall conduct two examinations each academic year, with an interval of not less than four to six months, as notified by the University from time to time.
Candidates who fulfill the prescribed requirements related to attendance, academic progress, and conduct, as stipulated by the University, shall be eligible to appear for the University examinations. A certificate confirming eligibility, issued by the Head of the Institution, must be submitted along with the examination application and the prescribed examination fee.
All practical examinations shall be conducted in the respective clinical settings relevant to the subject.
A candidate must fulfill the following criteria to be declared successful in the programme:
The candidate shall pass both the Internal Assessment and the University Examination separately, in accordance with the Indian Nursing Council Circular No. 12-2/90-INC dated 16.01.1991.
The candidate must secure not less than 50% of the maximum prescribed marks in Internal Assessment for theory and 50% in practical, separately, in each paper.
In the University Examination, the candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% of the maximum prescribed marks in theory and 50% in practical, separately, in each paper.
For the English paper, a candidate shall secure not less than 40% of the maximum prescribed marks in theory and 40% in internal assessment to pass.
